1. Introduction

ARIS ("we", "our", "us") operates the aris4u.dev website and the ARIS AI Operating System software. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you purchase a subscription, we collect your email address and payment information through Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — Stripe handles all payment processing.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage analytics including which skills are used, task routing patterns, and session counts. This data is used to improve ARIS and is never linked to your identity.

Technical Data: Hardware specifications (CPU, RAM, GPU) are collected locally by Guardian for health monitoring. This data never leaves your machine unless you explicitly share it.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT read, store, or transmit your code
• We do NOT access your AI model API keys
• We do NOT collect the content of your prompts or AI responses
• We do NOT track your browsing activity
• We do NOT sell your data to third parties

4. Privacy-First Architecture

ARIS is designed with privacy as a core principle:

• Local Processing: Skills are served via MCP protocol but execute locally on your machine
• Privacy Routing: ARIS automatically routes sensitive data (medical, financial, legal) to local AI models (Ollama) so it never leaves your network
• No Cloud Storage: Your memories, configurations, and components are stored locally in ~/.aris/
• Encryption: License keys are signed JWTs validated locally — no phone-home required for offline use

5. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your email and subscription status from Stripe but never your full credit card number. See Stripe's privacy policy for their data handling practices.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your subscription is active. If you cancel, we retain your email for 30 days for support purposes, then delete it. Anonymous usage analytics are retained indefinitely in aggregate form.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of your data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics collection
• Cancel your subscription at any time

8. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for essential functionality only. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics that track you across websites.

9. Children's Privacy

ARIS is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ARIS after changes constitutes acceptance.
